Chaplain's Welcome

I popped off yesterday to say an big hello to a new Chaplain.

It was the official welcome to the New Chaplain at the Dimst...Southampton Solent University.

Now Southampton Solent University is, like Southampton University,in Southampton. Nowhere near the Solent really. It is a little newer than The University of Southampton being as it recieved it's royal charter in 2005 and according to the Times University Guide 2006 it has made it in to the top 107 of British Universities.

The only problem is parking because it is located in the City centre. I had to park miles away and then discoved to my horror that I only had a £1 coin on me together with a ten pound note. I begged several strangers for change to no avail and then decided to put in my pound which gave me an hours parking.

I ran there went to the welcome and ran back. 1 hour 10 minutes.

Now I was a bit upset with this fine until I looked closly and discovered with joy the fact that Southampton City Council are having a sale on illegal parking at the moment. Look at it! I should go and get yourself some illegal parking right now, you wont see prices like this again.

50% off!

Bargin!!

Can you join in this sale even if you don't own a car? It sounds a bit daring to have your very own parking fine and I just can't resist a bargin and let's face it, at those prices you'd have to be quite, quite mad to miss out. If only they had an advert for this amazing deal (preferably involving Barry Scott from the Cillit Bang adverts) "Hi, I'm Barry Scott and this is a parking fine. Bang and the fine is gone" :-)

Wait - you used your CAR to get to Solent??? Should have taken the uni-link bus, mate. Stops right outside chaplaincy and drops off likewise at Solent. Round trip total cost? £2.40 - now that IS a bargain!
