Facebook

I was glancing at the stats today. It being my day off... and while I don't want to go on about this...I'm confused. It seems that I'm getting quite a few hits from facebook.

Facebook the centre of the virtual student universe.

I forget how many times a day someone says "Facebook is so addictive" to me. Apparently so is Myspace and MSN and blogging.

Maybe the Internet is more addictive than even pringles. Boldrewood Tunnel Soc is on facebook. So is chaplaincy.

But while I would expect a couple of hits off that and even a couple of soton.facebook.com which is the Southampton University Network over the last few days I have got hits off these facebook networks:

Exeter University

Nottingham University

Glasgow University

Sheffield University

Strathclyde University

Edinburgh University

and a whole bunch of others.

I admit to confusion. If you came here from Facebook could you maybe let me know???

Only it's driving me nuts.

Hello Yellow. I've found your pages through facebook, currently studying at Essex. A link has been posted on a facebook group called "Stop PURE", a campeign run out of Edinburgh Uni. Religious folks, atheists et al chatting about this discriminatory 'Christian' course. Respect your position on the whole homophobia thing, sensible Christians need to be more vocal, and visible.

Er hi. I came here from facebook. Just letting you know.

I'm from Nottingham University and I found your link in the Stop Pure group on facebook.

You might be interested to know that some of the people protesting against the SOR laws used the recent complaints about Christian Union's (about their, often homophobic, PURE course) as an excuse.

"These Regulations should be withdrawn as they offend the vast majority of people in Northern Ireland across the sectarian divide. Will severly limit free speech in Northern Ireland. The Schoold curriculum and assemblies must be entirely exempted. Could lead to Bibles being banned from Hospitals where the Word of God offers much succour. Christian Teachers could be forced out of the profession removing the bedrock of our System. They override the consciences of Christan teachers and are contrary to Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Gay rights activists have sought to ban University CUs and this will spread to schools."

Horrible, isn't it?

On second thoughts, is it possible for you to delete the link from my last comment? I don't really want to advertise it to those who might sign it.

I'm sorry Andrew I can't edit comments...and also I didn't see your request for a delete till after I had published your comment.

You could delete it possibly but I can't.

Don't worry though. I think SOR is a fait accompli. Whether you like it or not it is here to stay.

I'm also here from the Stop PURE page on Facebook. It's great to know that there are still Christians out there who actually see the loving part of the faith as the core value.
