Bill Bailey

Went to see Bill Bailey. With students. This is the essential way to see Bill Bailey live. In fact I think if don't have a student laying around at home, you've got no business getting tickets. I'm not saying you can't go...I'm just saying take an undergraduate.

For instance:

He had a sequence involving buying a pot plant from Homebase. Later on he appeared on the screen with a large pot plant. Tom (3rd year physics) was able to confirm that he was indeed carrying one of Homebase's range. Not only this but it was from the current stock and thus available to purchase for anyone who wished to carry around said plant in a Bill Bailey fashion.

You wouldn't get that from your friend who works in an office would you?

Tom was also able to explain the joke involving a particle accelerator.

But it was pot plant bit that was really important.

I have that problem too ... needing a 'younger generation' type to explain things. It's some of the ads on TV that most often catch me out!

student != undergraduate.

What is it with students and growing pot?

Oh...

I'm 64 and I find that I generally have to explain things to the 'younger generation'. If anyone else needs to me to explain who Mr. T. is, let me know...

I remember the A-Team (and Knight Rider), and I'm a student...

I have to agree with mair that student != undergraduate; the rest of us have crummy jobs too ;)

Unfortunately i'm not convinced you can buy the plant in question any more, as I think it was part of this summers range, (obviously now onto the winter range) but I can't be sure as I quit a few months ago. On the plus side they sell something similar most summers, at least they have for the last 5.
