That difficult second Album





From the moment they unpacked the van I realised it. This was going to be different.

I had committed myself to here.

And I realised Southampton had been a success I had left on a high note...it had been a wall to wall success, anyone could see that, you only had to discount the fact that I'd been fired and it was obvious.

I had been chaplain of one institution and at one institution it had worked. That was going to count as 100% success in anyone's book. Even the people who couldn't count, involving as it did the number one and therefore not requiring the level of counting needed to reach the number two. It was just the people who didn't have books that were a problem here.

If I had just gone off and got a parish things would have been fine. But now....well the only way was down.

I felt nervous.
